Adoption is a loving decision. It takes a great deal of love and courage to even consider it.
We want to make sure you are confident and informed about the decisions you make and that is right for you and your baby. We have someone you can talk with that will help you navigate through your options.
How are Adoptive Families Screened?
How can I be sure that my baby will be loved and taken care of?
This is a serious question that every expectant mom has to ask. It reflects your motherly instinct and love for your child. We can assure you that our adoptive families are screened in-depth before we even show an expectant mother an adoptive family profile.
- Our adoption screening process (also known as a home study) includes:
- Criminal and child abuse background checks
- Gathering of legal documents, such as marriage license and birth certificates, to prove who they are
- Multiple in-home visits and interviews with a social worker
Will There be Ongoing Contact with the Adoptive Family?
If you choose, you can receive regular updates and pictures of your child. None of our adoptions are closed, unless you request a closed adoption. Otherwise, all our adoptions range from semi-open to fully open.
Can I be Involved in Choosing the Family that Adopts My Baby?
Your personal adoption journey allows you choices and options for transitioning your baby to their forever family.
Your adoption journey will be centered around your desires and comfort level. We will help you navigate the process of finding adoptive parents. We will assist you in the initial contact with them. You decide your comfort level of openness.
What if I Haven’t Made an Adoption Plan Before Giving Birth? Can You Work with Me From the Hospital?
Absolutely! We are happy to meet you at the hospital and expedite a plan for you and your baby, providing support for both of you. We will be here to walk with you through the entire adoption process. Birth Choice facilitates adoptions from birth to one year old.
